Summary: Since 2012, Harvard Business School has been studying the post-MBA paths of its alumni in order to better understand how their careers and lives unfold over time, with particular attention to the role of gender and race. This research project, Life & Leadership After HBS, explores how alumni make choices, decisions, and trade-offs and sheds light on differences and persistent disparities. Early published findings revealed that conventional wisdom about professional women’s career trajectories was often wrong and highlighted gaps between men’s and women’s expectations and experiences at work and at home. Colleen Ammerman, director of the HBS Gender Initiative, which houses the study, will present highlights of the Life & Leadership research findings, including new results from the latest survey. She will also share an overview of other work that the Initiative and its affiliated faculty are engaged in.

Getting there: If you’re driving over, please use the parking.harvard.edu guidelines. However, we recommend the shuttle, which drops off right near the iLab/Batten Hall.  A leisurely 15 minute walk from the center of the Square up JFK Street and across the bridge will get you to Batten Hall; the river and foliage are beautiful this time of year.  There are a limited number of metered spots in the Batten Hall lot as well as some street parking.

Brought to you by, with huge thank you to, our colleagues and co-hosts at the Harvard Business School,

Elizabeth Clark | Kara Bilotta | Jessica Tobiason

Your ABCD-WIT Co-Chairs,

Kristin Caulfield | Ann Marie Healey | Briana Pendleton | Donna Tremonte
