We are excited to announce our January 25th meeting hosted at Harvard Longwood Campus (HLC) and co-hosted with the ABCD-LMA group. Gillian Simkiss, Organizational Development Consultant for HLC HR, will be talking to us about navigating your career & professional development by highlighting workshops and training available to all of us (not just HLC) through their COMPASS program.

Speaker Bio:

Gillian Simkiss began her career in hotel and business management in the United Kingdom. She worked in the hotel industry in operations and human resources for a number of years before moving into organizational development in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, hotel management, and the leisure industry.

Gillian moved to the United States in 1998 and worked for twelve years at Partners Healthcare both within the hospital community at Massachusetts General Hospital and as Director of Training and Development for Partners Finance. In her director role, Gillian managed the training function for the revenue operations department.

Currently Gillian works at Harvard University as a Training Manager for Organizational and Workforce Initiatives. In this role, her clients include Harvard Medical School, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Gillian is responsible for creating professional development training programs for the Harvard community as well as the design of new learning initiatives. She also assists a range of departments as an internal consultant, one-on-one leadership coach, strategic planning advisor, and process improvement guide.

Gillian holds a Master’s Degree from Suffolk University in Organizational Learning and Development (MSOLD), and a Certificate in Executive Coaching from William James College (ICF). Gillian is a practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and is a chartered member of the Institute of Personnel Development (MCIPD) in the UK.
