DEIB is an acronym that is increasingly overused and is often a cliche. We use the words together, separately, and interchangeably but what do we mean. Do we arm ourselves with these words to assuage our guilt and mask our fears? What stories do we tell ourselves and others on our quest to enact change.
Tracie Jones, M.Ed., Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, is the architect of HGSE’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategy. She provides guidance, direction and oversight on programs, policies, and procedures. Her goal is to cultivate a community that reflects the broader cultural shifts happening globally and, in the communities, where we live, learn and work. She oversees the DEIB office focusing on driving innovative programs and policies to embed diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging within the HGSE community.
