As many of us have shifted the way we work and connect over the past few months, you may now be wondering what it looks like to be intentional when discussing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion (‘DEI’) in the virtual workplace. While many things are uncertain right now, we cannot afford to lose the essence of DEI work in our organizations. Working and connecting virtually still makes it possible for us to create and maintain innovative and well-thought out ways to discuss issues that impact the people, practices, and policies of our institutions. Whether you’re looking to virtually facilitate an employee resource group (ERG) or conduct an equity audit that allows you to assess your organization, there are ways for us to be compassionate and skillful while centering DEI work virtually. Join Co-CEO Felicia Jadczak and Learning Development Manager Fatima Dainkeh of She+ Geeks Out as they:

  • Explore some of the virtual challenges and opportunities we may face when discussing important topics related to DEI
  • Review tangible ways to facilitate and support DEI related conversations
  • Provide examples of DEI work that can be done virtually in an effective manner
