The word discipline can evoke images of control and punishment, accompanied by feelings of parental uncertainty or guilt. This workshop will explore the concept of “positive parenting” (positive discipline) – approaches that foster self-esteem in young children and confidence in your parenting skills. It’s about having a positive plan of action – a plan that articulates your family’s values, identifies discipline techniques that work, and encourages family fun. Bring your stories from the front lines of parenting. Participants will:
• Learn to use the power of understanding to get your children ready to listen and accept
• Discover the strategies of ritual, routine and rehearsal
• Identify successful methods for setting limits
