Given the impact of COVID-19 on all of our lives, we are starting a new virtual series for the summer called "Summer AmAs", where we invite experts from across the university to give a short presentation and take questions on issues that are important to our members during this difficult time.
 To that end, the Chairs are happy to announce Summer HarvardWIT+ AMA’s (Ask Me Anything’s), hour-long informal discussions on topics we know are important to all of you.

The Office of Work/Life stands at the intersection of wellbeing and organizational effectiveness. They are about maximizing schedules, expanding community, maintaining wellbeing, easing the mind, defining options, preparing for the future, caring for family, and partnering to create and preserve each employee’s unique version of work/life balance.  Karen will provide an overview of the Office of Work/Life programs and services offered to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff, including Flexwork, Mindfulness, EAP, and Dependent Care Resources.

 

Karen Kelly joined the Office of Work/Life at Harvard in 2017.  She leads the Flexwork program, Mindfulness at Work Program as well as supporting other University-wide Work/Life programs. Before coming to Harvard, Karen had a distinctive career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where she held leadership positions in sales, finance, and human resources during her 26-year tenure. She built and managed the remote work program at BCBSMA, where 20% of the employees work from home. She offers a unique ability to provide a comprehensive strategic viewpoint across all lines of business for Flexwork, including financial benefits, safety, security, compliance, business requirements, and technical equipment and support. She holds a BS in Business Management from Salem State University and an MBA from Northeastern University.
