Dear HarvardWIT+ community,
As Harvard University closes in observance on Friday, June 18th, to commemorate Juneteenth, we want to share resources and collectively recognize the history of this day along with the continued struggle for Black liberation in this country.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery across the nation, and this year marks the 156th anniversary. Our colleagues from the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging have shared a way for us to get involved throughout the week. We encourage all of you to participate in solidarity at these events.
To communicate your solidarity today, we've included resources on the history of slavery abolition, and how we can act today to fight anti-Blackness and systemic racism.
In Solidarity,
Your HarvardWIT+ Chairs: Donna, Deirdre, and Anisha, and WIT+ Intern, Afiya Rahman
