How can we support our LGBTQ Colleagues?

Learn about LGBTQ+ history: Recognizing and learning about our history is an integral factor of being an ally. We encourage you to learn about LGBTQ+ history and understand what these communities have faced throughout history.

Read books by LGBTQ+ authors: To learn and support the community this pride month and beyond, read stories by LGBTQ+ authors.

Learn about pronouns: An important step in showing allyship can be the act of sharing pronouns, if you are comfortable. By sharing pronouns, we can create an inclusive environment. You can also add their pronouns in your email signature, after your zoom name, and on social media.

Support LGBTQ youth: Donate to organizations like BAGLY or access resources from The Trevor Project, which has a wealth of resources available about how to support our youth.

Join Harvard’s QERG! Harvard’s LGBTQ Staff and Faculty (QERG) is an employee resource group dedicating to ensuring a welcoming and inclusive workplace for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, and queer employees.
